It is rarely a one-off incident; rather, it is often a pattern of controlling, coercive, or threatening behaviour used by one person to maintain power over another.

This suite of four courses is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation for anyone looking to improve their professional or personal response to domestic abuse.

Stay Free Facilitator Training

Stay Free is a holistic, group-work based domestic abuse recovery programme designed by our specialist team for women who have experienced domestic abuse.

This facilitator training is suitable for professionals involved with family support services linked to domestic abuse who wish to deliver the recovery programme solely or as part of their existing programmes.

Facilitators will:

  • Learn how to plan and prepare in order to deliver the programme effectively
  • Understand their roles and responsibilities as facilitators and co-facilitators
  • Participate in role play, group discussions and presentation of the Stay-Free material
  • Gain an understanding of group work dynamics
  • Gain an understanding of domestic abuse and how to support clients better

This facilitator training takes place over four full days and is delivered online via Zoom.

Course fee: £600 per person.

Wednesday 4th November 2026 – 9.30am to 4.30pm

Wednesday 11th November 2026 – 9.30am to 4.30pm

Domestic Abuse Training for Churches & Christian Organisations (Bespoke)

This course is specifically structured to equip the Church and Christian organisations on how to manage cases of domestic abuse appropriately. It includes various scriptural references on domestic abuse.

The course is suitable for Christian leaders, Adult and Children’s Safeguarding teams in the church, appointed members of their congregation, Christian Counsellors, Coaches, Mental Health Professionals and those offering other faith based therapeutic family intervention services.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the various forms of domestic abuse
  • Understand the patterns of abusive behaviours and the cycle of domestic abuse
  • Understand scriptural references against domestic abuse
  • Understand the risk factors and various impacts of domestic abuse on the victim and their children
  • Identify how to support victims of domestic abuse in their congregation and community
  • Identify how to support clients who disclose experience of domestic abuse
  • Identify referral pathways for victims and perpetrators
