ROLE TITLE                      VOLUNTEER – ENABLER

SUPPORT                        Business and Marketing Manager

Working Arrangements:     

  • To attend designated area of volunteering as agreed with Business Manager in Volunteer agreement.
  • To be in sympathy with the ethos, vision & aims of eve
  • Arrive at area of volunteering 15 minutes before commencing responsibilities

Role Summary:

To work alongside employed Refuge staff to deliver agreed volunteering work including:

SUPPORT FOR WOMEN:

  • Chat to residents
  • Going out for coffee 
  • Practical help for those moving out of Refuge 
  • Attending appointments/activities in the community (e.g. mums and tots, group work, etc.) 
  • ESOL support 
  • Coffee and Chat session support
  • Volunteer support for Service User Forum 
  • If supporting in a group, liaise with the Facilitator about what support they would like you to provide in the session
  • Safeguarding – If a service user shares with you anything which may indicate a child or vulnerable adult will be hurt, or someone is taking part in any illegal activities, you cannot offer confidentiality for this, check what you have understood the situation correctly with the service user and let them know that you will need to share the information with staff.  Update staff at the earliest opportunity.
  • At the end of the session ensure everyone has signed out, complete feedback and leaves the premises

Creche Volunteer – Wellingborough

  • Children support and activities

Children and Young People’s Group Work:

  • Liaise with the Facilitator about what support they would like you to provide in the session
  • Safeguarding – If a service user shares with you anything which may indicate a child or vulnerable adult will be hurt, or someone is taking part in any illegal activities, you cannot offer confidentiality for this, check what you have understood the situation correctly with the service user, and let them know that you will need to share the information with the facilitators.  Update the facilitators at earliest opportunity.

Volunteer Team Leader

ROLE TITLE                     Volunteer Team Leader

LOCATION                    Northampton

SUPPORT                       Business and Marketing Manager

TIME COMMITMENT    Up to 4 hours weekly

                                      Minimum of 1 year

Why we need your help:

  • eve is celebrating its 40th Anniversary and we are looking for 40 volunteers to help us plan and organise our events during this year
  • there is a need for a Volunteer Team Leader at eve to make sure all our volunteers are made to feel welcome, given the information they need for their role and thanked for their contribution

Role Summary:

To work alongside employed staff to deliver agreed volunteering work including some or all of the following:

  • help identify need for new volunteers and opportunities
  • support recruitment and advertising for new volunteers in line with organisational procedures
  • Support the interviewing of new volunteers
  • deliver volunteer induction and ongoing support with support from the Business and Marketing Manager
  • Key point of contact for all communication
  • Support existing volunteers by making occasional calls / setting aside time to check that all is well with them in their volunteer role
  • Provide updates to Business and Marketing Manager

VOLUNTEER Counsellors

eve supports women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse to develop the skills, knowledge and attributes necessary to become survivors. We provide crisis refuge support and community based support through our own intensive, holistic, rehabilitation and recovery programme called Restored. 

VOLUNTEER Counsellor

eve is looking for an experienced and qualified volunteer counsellor to support our clients who have experienced trauma due to domestic violence and abuse.  You will hold a degree or diploma in counselling and/or psychotherapy and will have accumulated at least 100 hours of post-qualified experience of supervised client work.  In addition, you will be Accredited or working towards accreditation with BACP, UKCP, ACC or equivalent.  You must be in sympathy with our Christian ethos and be able to work in a boundaried, confidential and ethical way, adhering to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Full training on all aspects of domestic abuse will be provided through our excellent and comprehensive training programme as well as supervision and support.
