In November 2021 we achieved the second stage of accreditation for our Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme, SHE. The second Interim Evaluation Report delivered by the Institute for Public Safety, Crime and Justice at the University of Northampton stated that the evidence for Evolve showed positive effects in terms of resilience and wellbeing. For men with matched pre and post scores, large increases in resilience and wellbeing were identified. The results for Locus of Control showed on average a shift from external to internal locus of control, suggesting that men engaging in the service perceive themselves as having greater control and responsibility for their actions. Service user satisfaction was recorded as being very positive, with all men indicating that ‘this was the service I needed’, ‘Staff spoke in a way I understood’ and ‘Staff were sensitive to my cultural and ethnic background’.
